I hate linking to Kotaku cause I know everyone on the planet already reads it. But if you happened to miss a day, they just reported that Ubisoft has released a trailer at their "Ubidays" event that confirms a sequel to Beyond Good and Evil!

The trailer isn't too exciting to watch, aside from the excitement caused by knowing a sequel is in the works, but if you watch carefully you'll see a very statuesque looking Jade in the background of a few shots.

Honestly I feel that high quality FMV doesn't really give off the same feel as the graphic style from the original Beyond Good and Evil, but like many others I'll be watching closely for any new information.

Supposedly that's the in game graphic engine, not FMV. But I dunno. I'm not really that interested, the original was a good game, but that's all. Ubisoft is pretty anxious to recycle their franchises right now, and it's hard for me to get excited about that.

Makes me wish I had a copy so I could play it. I've gotta find some way to play my Gamecube here too though...

Actually, now that I see the trailer, the whole realism thing weirds me out a little. Akin to that real-life version of Mario some guy made a while back.

Plus Kyle is right, Ubisoft is pretty well known now for making inconsistent sequels, so unless it's exactly the same team that made the first one, I'd be pretty skeptical right now...

So it seems the first Beyond Good and Evil was too difficult, and that's why it didn't sell well. (Uhhh, what?) They wanna make the sequel more accessible.

(Any time I hear the word accessible involved in video games bad things happen... lets see where this goes.)
