Well on UPS the shipping type says "UPS Saver" which sounds like some kind of bargain shipping... but then even to go from BC to Charlottetown from Thursday to the following Tuesday isn't what I'd call slow...

Woot!
Nice new system. As soon as Apple announces a refresh on the Mac Pros I'm putting in an order for one that day. Can't. Stand. Waiting. But it's been 18 months since Apple updated the Mac Pro line and I know the update is gonna be sitting on Intel's new
Nehalem platform. Plus, Snow Leopard. Okie, I don't
know but I'm hoping. Nehalem, 4G of RAM, fancy lad graphics card... I'm gonna be wetting myself for days when I get it.
Time for an external back up drive with rsync or some sort run nightly? ;)

Ah but Macs are soooo expensive.
I've been trying to keep more up-to-date backups but really... how often is a total hard-drive crash gonna happen?

Once is enough for me if it has important data on it. Over the years I've had it happen too many times and I finally purchased an external drive for Time Machine and daily system drive clone backups.
Just ordered my own new system (current system is 5-6 years old)…
My custom ordered system specs:
2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processor with 8MB of L3 cache;
8GB (4×2GB) of 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM memory;
ATI Radeon HD 4870 with 512MB of GDDR5 memory;
1TB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7200 rpm hard drive;
18x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW);
4 PCI Express 2.0 slots;
AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi Card with 802.11n;
Bluetooth 2.1+EDR;
2 FireWire 800 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports and a headphone mini-jack up front;
2 FireWire 800 ports, 3 USB 2.0 ports , optical/analog in and out and dual Gbit Ethernet ports in the back;
Apple Keyboard with numerical keypad and Mighty Mouse.
edit: eww, that doesn't look good.

I don't think I need to know how much that costs... geeze... :P
So is this an actual Mac or do you just run the MacOS on a custom built PC?

Wrong topic. What is this nonsense of Linksville not being on the top?!
