About time to post your top 5 things of 2009! Games will be hard for me since pretty much everything I played this year aside from a few DS games was from the PS2 era or older :P

As Tall As Lions - You Can't Take it With You
Mutemath - Armistice
Fun. - Aim and Ignite

I think only one of my top 5 games was made in 2009... and it's filler more or less...
5. Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
4. Dead Space (Haven't finished it yet, but I really like it.)
3. Valkyria Chronicles (Haven't finished this one yet either but I think it'll be a favorite.)
2. Okami (PS2)
1. Metal Gear Solid 4

Games of 2009.
5. Shadow Complex
4. Modern Warfare 2
3. Assassin's Creed 2
2. Borderlands
1. Dragon Age: Origins
You guys should really get playing a console or two. 2009 was one of the best years for games in recent memory. Had a hard time narrowing it down to five here.
I'm no hero. Never was, never will be. I'm just an old killer, hired to do some wet work.
Games of 2009 (some new, some old!)
5. Modern Warfare 2
4. Team Fortress 2 (still playing this from time to time, never seems to get old...)
3. Metal Gear Solid 4
2. Demon's Souls
annnnd, because it deserves it!
1. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Honorable Mentions: Lost Odyssey (which I recently picked up again), Dead Space, Battlefield 1943, Left 4 Dead 2
You! Invaders! Get You the Hot Bullets of Shotgun to Die!

Games of 2009
5. Demon Souls: Can't really think of anything else to put on this list. This game is alright, but I honestly don't care for it much. The promise of "Strict" gameplay is instead re-enforced with cheap enemy tactics.
4. Shadow Complex: I've yet to beat this game. So I need to go back to it, but from what I remember it was very fun to play, very good Metroid-vania type game, but suffered in some areas.
3. Battlefield 1943: Had a lot of fun with this game. Deserves to be on my list.
2. Assassin's Creed 2: They took everything that they did great about the first one, moved it to this, fixed everything they did terribly, and added in a bunch of new stuff. Except for a few bugs that I ran into, this game is fantastic.
1. Modern Warfare 2: I've sunk too much time into this game to not have it top the list.

Guess I should finally get around to this..
5 albums of 2009:
That I remember and will listen to again:
5. fun. - Aim and Ignite
A bit weak if considered as a follow-up to Dog Problems, but overall a really "fun" album, with lots of variety and great musicianship. Some of the songs I felt were a little too overproduced at times, maybe a bit too busy. I'd love to hear these songs smaller, more intimate. A live album perhaps?
4. Closure In Moscow - First Temple
Got a really great Mars Volta sound going on, with some complex melodies and constructions, but obviously a bunch of kids who are willing to take some chances. Lots of layers. Definitely worth a listen.
2. Empire of the Sun - Walking on a Dream
A pretty inconsistent album. But the great tracks more than make up for the "experimental" sounding ones. Forever will remind me of driving home from Charlottetown at 4 am with Jon.
2. Breathe Carolina - Hello Fascination
Don't judge me! These guys are definitely not in the same league as the crunk-core garbage they've been associated with. Tonnes of energy, great hooks. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure.
1. Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest
No surprise here. These guys have gotten a lot of publicity in 2009, and quite frankly, deserved every bit of it. A beautiful album, but you've gotta sit down and really listen to it to fully appreciate it.
Honorable Mentions:
Cobra Starship - Hot Mess:
Another guilty pleasure. Good summer album, but still no Midtown.
Manchester Orchestra - Mean Everything to Nothing:
Not much to say that hasn't already been said. It's mostly amazing, but sometimes a drag.
Maria Taylor - Ladyluck:
A very "sweet" album. Love it.
"No More Heroes is a really great game. A very amazing game. I think No More Heroes is a great game, there's no other action game like it for the Wii. If it was a band, it would be really energetic, like the Arctic Monkeys." - SUDA 51

And now!
5 albums of 2009:
That I have already forgotten about:
5. Weezer - Raditude
I haven't really forgotten about this one, unfortunately...
4. Say Anything - (Self Titled)
As much as I enjoy listening to love songs written for someone very specific, I couldn't get anywhere near as into this album as "Is A Real Boy". The acoustic version were still a million times better.
3. Brand New - Daisy
I hate to say that this didn't live up to my expectations, but it didn't. I can't even remember one shred of anything about the album, and I've listened to it 8 or 9 times (a bit forcibly...)
2. Dashboard Confessional - Alter The Ending
I suppose that I'm a little bit of a closet Dashboard fan, but the fact that I haven't been able to really appreciate anything they've released past 2003... this album in particular, had 2 versions, a studio and an acoustic. The acoustic tracks however were so dense that it really didn't even matter.
1. Muse - The Resistance
Oh Muse! You have a sound all of your own! Why are you doing this to me? Butterflies and Hurricanes was pretty recent, why can't you do that again?
Honorable (not so much?) Mentions:
Billy Talent - Billy Talent III
One of the songs starts out exactly like a song off their first record. Is it getting old even for them?
Taking Back Sunday - New Again
Yaaaaawn.... what's new again?
The Used - Artwork
Much better than their last efforts, but still... starting to sound a bit generic. Maybe time to drop the producer?
Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
Okay, I really liked this album in all honesty. But then I realized it was because it felt like I was listening to "It's Never Been Like That" all over again. The people who love this have never heard anything else by Phoenix, sadly...
So what's up for next year?

Top 5 Games?
Seeing as though my computer is old, and I don't own any new consoles other than a Wii... can I even dig out 5 games?
5. Lost Winds
4. Dragon Quest 5 (the version I'm playing...)
3. ...
2. Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time
1. Muramasa
Gah.

Oh man add these to your list of albums to disregard:
Arctic Monkeys - Humbug
Humbug is right! What a strange and uninspired album.
Mew - No More Stores Are Told Today I'm Sorry They Washed Away
Our Lady Peace - Burn Burn
May as well...
Two Tongues - Two Tongues
Yea, this did come out in 2009, bet you forgot all about it.
