That settles it. I'm getting Yakuza 3 instead, as soon as I finish Yakuza 2.
Edit:
Nevermind. I'll get it when it's cheap. I'm not paying full price for a game with elements I enjoyed (hostess bars) chopped out. The only reason you even needed to accumulate money in these games was to buy expensive gifts for the hostesses...
Yakuza 2 had subbed dialogue instead of English voiceover due to budget constraints, yet still had the hostess clubs AND a very detailed mini-game (Mahjong) that was definitely too Japanese for my North American brain, but I loved being able to try and figure it out.
Sorry SEGA, but one thing I can't deal with are localization adjustments. Is Atlus the only company willing to do it right?
Relevant Mega64 video.

So much Yakuza 3 rage on the official Sega blog.
On one hand I feel bad for Sega. I'm sure lots of hard work went into the localization.
But on the other hand I'm sick and tired of seeing content chopped from Japanese games when they're localized. It's not necessary and it's about time it stopped.

So next on the list of disappointment (since Pokémon never disapoints) is Infinite Space.
One of the features listed is:
"Retro graphics: In a nod to classic Japanese sci-fi anime, the game features spaceships and Japanese anime characters with a 1980s vibe."
They really stuck with this style for the translated version when they included
terribly cheesy 1980's English voice acting in the cutscenes. (Trailer near the bottom.)

Makes me worry about the End of Eternit--Resonance of Fate localization.
And Steve, let me remind you that with Phantasy Star 0, within a week or so it was undubbed, font fixed, and had all the removed items put back in.
"No More Heroes is a really great game. A very amazing game. I think No More Heroes is a great game, there's no other action game like it for the Wii. If it was a band, it would be really energetic, like the Arctic Monkeys." - SUDA 51
Japanese voices will probably be a free DLC or something.
"Why is the rum gone?!". -Capt. Jack Sparrow
Only problem with Phantasy Star 0 is that even without the horrible font, not so great English dialogue, and removed items, it was a pretty lousy game :(

No, only problem is Sega can't seem to stop reskinning Phantasy Star Online.
I'm no hero. Never was, never will be. I'm just an old killer, hired to do some wet work.
Cave Story is this week! I likely won't be buying it, but I hope lots of people do.

Yayyyy! Cave Story! I just played it!
Here's a sure-fire way to make a great game even better. Let someone else mess with it!
Then you can get new features like:
- When you switch to the old music, it's sounds really awful and way too low.
- All the new sound effects are there when you switch to the old gfx/music, including the really bad text scrolling sound, and others!
- Why did they change the script? OH GOD this is lame, why did they change the script??? What the f*@# is a Harrier? Could they not say "bloodhound" because of Nintendo's censors? Balrog is the cool-aid man??
- What's with the text scrolling? If they just did it the same as the original, we wouldn't be having ugly problems like this.
- Why does Nicalis come up before Pixel in the intro menu's?
- Why does the Wii-menu game sample screen play codemasters music.
- What's with the music is general? Everything is trying to be clever and subdued. The old music is too quiet, the new music is loud... but too subdued. Even the boss music is quiet and mysterious. THE FANFARES ARE QUIET AND SUBDUED. WHAT GIVES? CELEBRATE GODDAMMIT!
- Who am I playing as when I play hard mode? Who is this yellow guy?
- The music stops when you enter buildings and go into new areas, and then starts abruptly where it leftoff. The regular version didn't do this. Obviously was too hardware intensive to get this working on the Wii, or it's a NEW FEATURE! WE APOLOGIZE!
- I like the new font!
- But the scrolling is ugly!
- Why is it so fuzzy? Apparently only EVERY SINGLE HOMEBREW APP can display correctly on old TVs. It's free code! Just steal it and fix it!
- Oh yeah, also the text boxes with the triangles around them, you know the ones, those are just regular square boxes now.
So now that has been said and done, guess I should stop waiting for La-Mulana on the Wii and just play the real version.

Was it Nintendo who did this port or that "Nicalis" people? Either way, after all that shit I feel angry that they decided to release it like that. Especially with redoing everything.
The phrase that comes to mind is, "Don't fix what isn't broken."
